I thought I may have bought this toy too early for my son at 5 months, but I believe it helped him learn to sit up by himself. I put my boppy pillow around him and showed him how to make the music go. He loved it. As he got older he started bouncing to the rhythm, leaning and sitting back up, stacking, noticed object permanence as he dropped a block in the house and looked for it below.
